Food Scale

I’m not sure how I managed without a food scale while on this weight loss journey.

Of course I always wanted one; I thought it would be nice to have but certainly not a necessity. The only reason I hadn’t purchased one until now was because I was afraid it would end up being just another one of the many kitchen gadgets I never use. And I really didn’t want to invest a lot of money in something I may not use much.

I had even promised myself a food scale as a reward when I reached 15 pounds lost, but when I reached that first goal I thought, “well shoot, I lost 15 pounds without a food scale, I guess I don’t really need it.”  But still it was always in the back of my mind.

When I came across this scale on Amazon for only $11 I didn’t think twice, I ordered it. I absolutely love this little thing. It is so small and so sleek that I just leave it out on the counter which makes it easy for me to grab whenever I need to. And I do reach for it often, I weigh everything. Everything from shrimp to crackers to sauces and I even weighed a small package this morning. It’s so easy to use and at $11 not much of a dent in pocketbook.

Having a scale really gives you piece of mind to know you are really only having a 3oz serving of chicken instead of guessing. I’ve realized my guessing wasn’t very good and I feel a lot better logging my food servings knowing they are accurate.
